Lucy was born to a single mother who had been abused and neglected for most of her own childhood. Right from the beginning Lucy’s mother couldn’t cope, but it wasn’t until Lucy reached eight years old that she was finally taken into permanent foster care.
By the time Lucy is brought to live with Cathy she is eleven years old and severely distressed after being moved from one foster home to another. Withdrawn, refusing to eat and three years behind in her schooling, it is thought that the damage Lucy has suffered is irreversible.

I have read a lot of books written by this author I like them as they are real life and from her own experiences she has fostered main damaged children and has the ability to love them and give them some stability that they have never had before. This little girl was 11 when she entered their home. I have also read part 1 and are about part 3. Although sometimes I wonder if things don't go as well as she says it seems like it goes too well. Don't get me wrong I think she is amazing and would like to have her passion for the abused children. I am sure you would like this book and they stories can be about abuse we don't want to know about so can be difficult to read but for me I need the wake up call about what goes on in little ones lives and it is not alway sunny days for them

My favorite of Cathy Glass

I love all of her books, I'm so glad I found her....Thanks to Amazon and Kindle I've found so many new author's that I love, it has to have done wonders for unknown and new writer's. This serious was my favorite, of course, because of how it ends, with Lucy being adopted.

Fantastic!!! I have yet to read a Cathy Glass book that didn't give me chills, make me very sad yet be in awe of how kindness, tolerance and a caring heart can impact a life. I appreciate how perceptive Ms. Glass in her work with others.
