Mary Randolph earned her law degree from the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley. Good, but not great...

I got this book as an informative resource regarding Canine laws in my region of the country. The book covers a lot of information, but isn't very specific regarding local ordinances, etc. A quality publication (as most Nolo books are)! I would check this book out of the library (or borrow a friend's copy) but would think twice about buying it again at full price.

Librarians love NOLO guides.

NOLO guides are among the best resources for regular people to understand complicated laws. I love that they are such great and trustworthy guides and that they make laws so much easier to understand. I'm a librarian- not a lawyer- but many of my patrons come asking for legal help even though I cannot offer legal advice. It is so relieving to be able to hand them a book that can give them information about laws without making the mistake of offering any kind of legal advice.
Every Dog's legal guide covers many laws that dog owners may not have considered, and helps neighbors of dog owners learn what they can do to stop certain problem behaviors. Most dog owners know that they are supposed to put their dog on a leash, but did you know that there are some local laws that say exactly how long that leash has to be? Are you familiar with local laws that may declare your barking dog a public nuisance?
